(More customer reviews)Ok so I'm doing a full custom Pioneer install and I wanted to put some 4"s and a pair of 1" tweeters in the A-Pillars. This was their highest quality product (or at least its the most current and it matches the rest of the Premier speakers I have). They sound like super sized tweeters basically. Great highs, decent mid range, but don't expect anything like bass from these guys. They aren't actually 4" cones, more like 3 something. They feel solidly constructed but are small and light enough that I drilled them into a single mdf ring and didn't worry about any kind of vibration movement. They run at 4 ohms off a 4 channel Pioneer amp. However, since their nominal power handling is so excruciatingly low (unless you know what your doing don't try to amplify them), I'm running them off a shared channel with some 6x9s. Giving them about 50 Watts is about all I would go for. As far as testing, turning the gain up instantly fries them... its just static and distortion.
So if your doing either a professional custom install or simply replacing unamplified factory speakers, these are great value for the money. They'll scream pretty loud especially in directional mounts. However, if your thinking about putting 3 sets of these together for your front stage, look elsewhere (grab some Pioneer 6.5 components).
Overall, its a good product in specific situations. Just don't try to load them with power, cause you will blow them.
