Have had these installed for more than a month now. First, here is the rest of the system installed in a Honda Accord.
HU- Sony cdg-GT55UIW.
Amp- Sony GTX6040, 600 watt@ 2 ohms/60watts (RMS)X4 ch.
Sub-Pioneer 12in. TS303R 1200 watt max/250watt nominal.
Sub amp-Dual XPE2700, 400 watts/150(RMS)watt X1 ch.
Front speakers- Pioneer 6.5in component speakers (separate tweeters)
(Remember the "big" watt# on any sound component means just about nothing. It is the RMS, or Nominal power rating that matters)
These Kicker 6X9's are loud. I was intending originally to have the sound stage in the front of the vehicle. The Kickers changed that. The front Pioneers, although good speakers, relatively clean, are just not in the same category of "LOUD" that the Kickers are. The Pioneer's "fall apart" trying to keep up in volume. Adjusting the fader control to the front greatly diminishes what the Kickers are designed to do leaving you frustrated that you cannot duplicate the sound from the rear to the front. The bass from my sub combo was OK but not "tight" bass. The kickers solved that issue as well. Don't worry about the co-ax rating leaving you without the highs being tended to as well. They have very good high range. If there is one area that I am not as impressed by it would be the mid's, however I have not done a lot of tuning to address this issue.
The frame of reference is other systems I have installed, some more expensive for sure. My other car has an Alpine system w/ s-series speakers etc. It sounds very good, has some better mid-range but cannot come close to the loud factor.
Did I happen to mention that the Kickers are L_O_U_D !!!! I don't think there would be many people disappointed in these in any category. All they need is some good clean power to impress very much. Next step is to change out the front Pioneer's for Kicker components. Will comment later. For now, just buy them, and enjoy!

Does a serious factory upgrade, with more muscle at an affordable price, sound too good to be true? What it sounds like are some of the loudest, clearest coaxials ever hidden behind a door on under a back deck. And KICKER takes full responsibility.

Give factory sound a serious power injection with a KS-Series Coaxial Speaker upgrade. With added improvements on the woofers and tweaked tweeters, dropping them in where factory speakers were seems like a no-brainer. The curvilinear, gray woofer cones, Santoprene surround, and newly designed basket give KS Coaxials the extra brawn to deliver a smooth, rich sound at any volume.
The half- and three-quarter-inch, Kaladex-domed tweeters contain a stout neodymium magnet dipped in ferrofluid for maximum coolness, recreating highs that rival live performance.
KS Coaxes are available in 10 sizes, from the capable 3.5-inch up to the marine-ready 6 x 9. The line includes a 6 x 8 for special applications. If you're looking for more from your doors, there's also a KS6930 3-way system in the lineup with an additional one-inch midrange.
