(More customer reviews)These speakers are great. They have lots of mid and low range bass, even running on the stock deck in a 2000 Mazda they boom. I'm excited to get them hooked up to an amplifier. I also own a pair of the OHC comp and full range 6.5s and they sound great with these. I was surprised to find that speakers that are not 'name brand' or very much heard about, to be so good in both construction quality, sound quality and price. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone looking for decent speakers that can be installed in a low to mid budget system. They sound great, look great and perform awesome! for the price they are great.
The only con I can find with them is the large spider that all the OHC products have. I think most of the spider design is for looks, some of it is for use. Makes the speaker sturdy, but also make the outer diameter much larger than 6.5. I'd hazard a guess at 7 inches. The actual speaker is only 6.5, just the spider, or outside cage of the speaker, is larger than that. I had to use the universal 6.5 inch speaker rings to gap them so they did not hit my window and so they fit in the car without cutting my door panel in order to fit the speakers.
Now, keeping in mind the 6.5s have a large spider which inhibits normal installation, the 6x9s are another story. Pulled out my Mazda's old paper 6x9s and dropped these ones in and they fit like a glove. Screw holes and all even lined up *almost* perfectly, but no drilling was required! Overall a great investment even if your not planning on installing an amplifier as they sound good with stock deck or an after-market deck's power capabilities. They really do perform best with an amplifier though, almost well enough to not need a sub for a decent mid-range system.
Don't be fooled by the almost no-name sounding name, these speakers really pack a punch!
